The first day we went in search of Hiyala Mariyaad Cafe ', which had very good reviews on the internet. But we didn't find him. And it turns out that he changed his name :-p As employees told us the template is the same and also the menu, so we stayed and liked it a lot ... So much that we repeat as 4 times. Our advice is to try the dishes of reef fish with mashed potatoes and garlic rice and the grilled tuna (€ 5 / plate approx). The staff is nice and they have both tables inside and a very nice patio. You can pay by card.

One of the cheaper options to eat in Maafushi. This small place is located in the southern part of the island and has a fairly large menu. We tried a seafood soup (normal), a plate of grilled tuna With chips (delicious), noodles with chicken and egg (very tasty) and pizza (normal). As you have understood, we are going to recommend the tuna dish that also costs only 50MVR (less than € 3!).

It is located just in front of the port (hence the name) and our advice is to go there to take typical snacks from Maldives (we tell you more about this and other typical Maldivian dishes) that only cost 3MVR (about 15 cent). There are several types but our favorites are samosas (tuna and onion) and gulas (fried balls stuffed with coconut and tuna), but we advise you to try them all!

We decided to try one of the best rated buffets on the islands and we thought it was good, without being super good. Maybe we were not lucky (the menu changes daily). There were noodles, pasta carbonara, lemon chicken, battered fish, white rice and lemon rice, chicken sausages and grilled fish, cooked vegetables, fried potatoes, salad buffet, minestrone soup and 3 desserts. Price: $ 12 without drinks (large water and $ 2 coke / each), to which you have to add 16% fees.

This buffet, although smaller, we liked more: the quality of the dishes seemed higher. We tried pasta with tomato (something picantilla but rich), dhal, chicken tandori, beef with wok, grilled fish or fried rice. The only bad thing is that at 8.30 it was all over and we ran out of dessert XD (they gave us a scoop of vanilla ice cream). So you know ... in Maldives it is better to eat early! Price: $ 12 (water and lemon tea included, as well as fees).

It is a homemade pastry shop where there are both desserts and food in snack plan (everything to take away). We recommend the banana bread (25MVR) and the chocolate brownie (35MVR). They are not the best desserts we tried in life, but if you need a sugar chute they are good!

If you feel like eating pasta and pizza, this is the best option on the island, given your comments. We decided to focus on local food so we didn't go, but we saw the pizzas and they look really good.

It has a rooftop so going to the sunset can be a very good plan. The menu looks great: apparently the chef is Australian and proposes healthy and tasty dishes. Prices somewhat higher (calculate about 10-14 $ / pax).

Remember that Maldives is a muslim country So you will NOT find beer or other alcohol on the menus. There are a couple of “floating” bars (come on, they are boats) that do serve cocktails and beer, but they are quite carillos and unless you don't feel like drinking something with alcohol yes or yes, we don't think they are a good option, although it can be A curious experience.
