What to see in New York by neighborhoods

As we mentioned in the preparations for the trip to New York during Holy Week to do a planning of what to see in New York It is not always an easy task, but the opposite. That has been the main reason why we propose to write a extra post on this trip to New York in which to explain the itinerary, more or less detailed with all the places what to see in New York by neighborhoods.
The first thing to do is get used to and identify the different neighborhoods that we find in both Manhattan and the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens or Staten Island, places that we will also know these days, although to a lesser extent.

The day of our arrival in New York, telling us that we will land in the JFK at noon and we have reserved the game between the New York Knicks - Chicago Bulls at Madison Square Garden at 19:30 in the afternoon, we will dedicate it to that first take of contact with the city, taking advantage to enjoy the surroundings of the Holiday Inn New York City - Times Square, which will be our hotel in New York, located only 3 minutes walk from the most central area of the city.

9th day - April 1 - Friday
Approaching the weekend, today if the day accompanies, we want to approach the Statue of Liberty. While we have read and given us mixed opinions, we believe that in a first trip to New York, we must get here, although we will not go up to the crown and that is when we went to see if there were tickets, logically already quite late, it was impossible to get them.

After this visit, we will approach until East village, where we will start a tour that will take us through The Cube, CBGB, one of the most famous concert halls in the city, Joey Ramone Place, Cooper Union, Trash & Vaudeville, an emblematic store that we do not know for sure if it has closed or not, Filmore East until you reach Tompkins Square Park.

After eating, we want to approach one of the New York's most interesting places, the Museum of Modern Art, MOMA, which is free admission (will) on Fridays from 4 to 8 in the afternoon.

After this afternoon visit, we will approach the Lincoln Center area to enjoy it with the evening-night lights.

10th day - April 2 - Saturday
As you can see, as we move forward the days of this trip to New York, the itineraries of the day are much more relaxed and knowing that the first days will be quite marathon, we have preferred to leave the last a bit free, to take them with more tranquility if we are too tired.
This last full day in the Big Apple we will approach the Queensboro Bridge, scene of the film Manhattan Woody Allen, to then take the Roosvelt Island Cable Car, to enjoy some views, we have been told, impressive of Manhattan.

After spending the morning in this area of the city, we will approach one of the best known places in New York, where we will enjoy brunch at 230 Fifth.

Oscity / Shutterstock.com

After enjoying a brunch, we hope that unforgettable and exceptional views, we will spend the rest of the day walking along Broadway and Fifth Avenue, taking those free hours to enjoy the city, only watching life go by.
Although at 8 pm we have an appointment with Broadway to see the play Aladdin at New Amsterdam Theater, with which we will end the day. Other famous shows are: The Lion King, The Phantom of the Opera, Blue Man Group, Cats, Wicked, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory or Chicago, Anastasia or School of Rock.

11th day - April 3 - Sunday
This will be our last day in New York, although having the flight at 17:20, we can still take advantage of the city all morning.
And our best way to say goodbye will be having a picnic in Central Park, one of the places that we will surely find the most beautiful in the city.

This is only a small, although extensive, sketch in which we wanted to capture the places and itineraries that we have prepared for this first visit to New York. As we commented in the trip preparations, after our experience, we believe that there is so much information on the internet, that making a compilation of everything is practically impossible, so we advise you to take a blog that you like or a guide as a reference and based on it, make your initial itinerary. Once you have it, adding interesting details or points that you discover in other guides or blogs will be much easier.
