One of its essentials is the Palacio da Pena which, with its color, is one of the places that you will surely have seen in thousands of photos. The Quinta da Regaleira is another of the wonders of the city, with its impressive gardens in which the initiatory pit is located, a stone pit with a spiral staircase.

3. Excursion to Óbidos and Fatima, one of the best excursions in Lisbon

Óbidos is one of the most beautiful villages in Portugal and Europe. Its walls of the fifteenth century and its medieval historical center with its houses full of flowers, delight those who visit it.
In 1914 six apparitions of the Virgin Mary put the town of Fatima on the pilgrims' map, which today has become one of the most important Marian pilgrimage sites in the world.
Every year more than 5 million people visit it and the most important place is the Basilica of Fatima with a large esplanade in front where mass masses are celebrated to celebrate the anniversaries of the six apparitions. You can also visit the Chapel of the Apparitions or the Igreja da Santissima Trinidade.
Daily buses leave from the Lisbon stations of Campo Grande to go Óbidos and Sete Ríos to Fatima. Communication between the two is complicated by public transport if you only have one day or do not have a car, so a comfortable alternative would be to book an excursion to Óbidos and Fatima by bus with a guide in Spanish in which you can also visit the Monastery of the Battle and Nazaré.

Next to the sea, between Setúbal and Sesimbra, is the Arrábida Natural Park, in which its calcareous cliffs combined with the green nature and the blue of the sea form a beautiful complex. To finish the route you can stop in the coastal town of Sesimbra where it stands out for its fantastic cuisine based on fresh fish. In the town you can also visit the Castle, the Fortress of Santiago, and the Matriz and da Misericordia churches.
